Set in the beautiful Cumbrian countryside, our Eden Valley site draws natural mineral water from what is believed to be one of Europe’s largest aquifers.
Princes Eden Valley Site is situated in the heart of Cumbria, close to the vibrant city of Carlisle which boasts its castle, cathedral and university of Cumbria.
Transport links are excellent with the M6 corridor and the west coast mainline railway within a ten mile access. The market town of Penrith is also nearby which attracts many tourists on a regular basis, and the site is on the fringe of the Lake District National Park which is extremely proud of it’s national heritage and beauty.
The site was established in 1991 and the product manufactured is natural mineral water, which is bottled at site from water sources which are drilled into underlying sandstone. It operates over 24 hours and 7 days per week. There are on average 125 permanent staff and a fluctuating temporary workforce which peaks during the summer months. In the last year, over 36 million cases of bottled water were produced at site from three bottling lines and transported to our major customers.
The site has achieved and maintained industry standard awards through regular external audits (and has also recently achieved Investors in People Gold award during 2015.)
An exciting period of investment and development is underway at the Eden Valley site which will include a new high speed production line, a laboratory and office block in addition to improved welfare facilities for our employees. The physical changes and benefits of these plans will be realised later in 2016.
