Job Purpose

We currently have an excellent opportunity for a Packaging Launch Manager to join our Packaging Team at our Head Office in Liverpool.

The Packaging Launch Manager will be required to deliver a Best In Class packaging service. The role holder will be commercially minded and responsible for ensuring Princes achieves its commitments across multiple sector interests including UK Drinks, Oils and Imported products by managing the timely approval of packaging items. The Packaging Launch Manager will be involved with the approval of artwork as well as maintaining Princes brand and Customer Own Brand (COB) presence across customer e- commerce sites via Brandbank and other service providers.


Principal Accountabilities

As Packaging Launch Manager you will have control of circa. 2,000 approval cycles per annum and a portfolio of over 1,000 SKUs which requires someone who can prioritise work, meet deadlines and possesses excellent attention to detail to deliver 100% right first time.

The successful individual will be a confident communicator who is comfortable in presenting to both internal and external stakeholders and be able to use their own initiative in order to suggest solutions to any challenges faced.

An essential part of the role will be following and putting into practice our Group and Packaging team Visions, Purposes and Values and adhering to our Packaging Guidelines at all times.



Essential Criteria

  • An in-depth understanding of artwork, reprographics and print across a broad range of substrates and print processes.

  • Familiarity with multi-site product launches using stage gate processes and working in a commercial environment.

  • Knowledge of packaging technology and packaging materials; a

    relevant qualification such as the Institute of Packaging diploma or equivalent would be of great value.

  • Strong people, project management, communication and negotiation skills.

  • Ability to lead and manage within a team to deliver projects on time and to budget in a fast paced environment.

  • Ability to engage with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders with confidence and authority.

  • Ability to manage budgets and report variances.

  • Understanding of relevant SAP processes.

  • Ability to manage an effective system for control of colour standards.

  • Responsible for managing one direct report.
