Celebrating National Apprenticeship Week

This week is National Apprenticeship Week and a chance for Princes to celebrate the achievements of our 45+ apprentices around the country.

This year’s theme is #skillsforlife and we’re sharing the stories of a number of apprentices on our website.

Barry McDonnell, Chief Operations Officer for Princes Food and Drink Group, and leader of the social mobility pillar of the Inclusion and Diversity programme, said: “I come from very humble beginnings and know first-hand just how hard it is to climb the social mobility ladder.

“For me, this started with education and working hard. Throughout my career, I have met and worked with many fantastic people who have done the same, which has reinforced my belief that great contributions can come from anyone.

“As a team, we are committed to helping people from any background build their future. This is why we are focused on evolving our apprenticeship programme for our current colleague and are engaging future colleagues in the community through coaching as part of the One Million Mentors programme.

“Remember all change is hard at first, messy in the middle, but fantastic in the end.”
