Case Study – Regan Deans – Product Development Manager
I started working at Princes in 2019 to cover a maternity leave for a New Product Development manager and was later given a permanent role.
Today I manage the canned ready meal portfolio and support the transfer of products from our Chichester factory to our Long Sutton site.
The company is investing in a new ready meal line and I’m also managing various new product development projects which are launching later in the year and which will go through the new line.
Every day is different at Princes. I could be conducting product review panels with customers, managing a team to develop recipes or identifying trends to understand how they could be implemented into our product portfolios.
There are also regular internal meetings to catch up with other people on the team as well as customer meetings.
Princes likes to invest in its people and, since I started, I’ve had leadership essential training which has been very beneficial and allowed me to develop my management skills.
My proudest achievement so far? It’s got to be the launch of four vegan soups for a national supermarket chain. It was the very first project I worked on when I joined the company.
The products were a first for Princes and it was fantastic to see them launch in store. It was a real team effort and we did it in a very short timescale.
“Every day is different – and it is never boring.”
