Wisbech is home to our food production site in Cambridgeshire, producing canned and pouch products including baked beans, soups, pulses, pasta, vegetables and sauces.
Our Wisbech Factory produces canned products as part of the Princes Food Group and became part of the Princes Ltd portfolio following acquisition in 2011. Specialising in Soup, Baked Beans, Pasta, Potato and Pulse Vegetable production, Wisbech produces a large range of both branded and customer own label products and currently employs over 440 employees with additional agency/contractor staff.
The site, originally opened in 1925, is well known locally and in the history archives of this Fenland market town. It has seen recent major investments and improvements. Namely, the recently installed internal Energy Centre allows more than half of the sites electrical energy to be generated internally and has reduced the carbon footprint by 10,000 tons per annum. A new high speed cooker is scheduled for installation in October 2016, which will increase both production speed and capacity, securing the site’s future and continuing with the sites energy reduction philosophy.
